Medicine

Akfa Medical School was launched in Fall 2019 according to the Presidential Decree dated Dec. 29th, 2017 to enhance the level of healthcare in Uzbekistan. In order to implement the Presidential Decree, the Cabinet of Ministers of Uzbekistan adopted a Resolution on Feb. 15th, 2019, which decided to collaborate with Gachon Medical School, one of the leading medical schools in Korea.

Akfa Medical School, by replicating the state-of-the-art medical education system imported from Korea, aims to educate good medical doctors with comprehensive knowledge, outstanding skills, and a warm heart for patients. The six-year curriculum comprises foundation courses (3 semesters), basic medical sciences (2 semesters), clinical sciences (3 semesters), and clerkship and career preparation (4 semesters).

At Akfa Medical School, students will learn the same course materials as those which students of Gachon Medical School are learning. Lectures and practices will be provided by experienced faculty members in modern educational facilities on the new campus. On successful completion of the whole curriculum, graduates of Akfa Medical School will earn a Medical Doctor (MD) degree. After graduation, they can continue their internship and residency training at the University Hospital that will be built on campus in Fall 2023.
