AU senior medical student co-authored a research paper

Senior student of AU Medical School Aziza Tavakkalovа co-authored a research paper “Supine mini Percutaneous nephrolithotomy in children”, which was prepared for EUA 2023 conference in Milan, Italy.

The authors of the article are Azimjon Tursunkulov, Dilmurod Yunusov, Odilbek Gaybullaev, Murad Abdullajonov, Akrom Asatullaev, AKFA Medline Urology Department physicians, and Aziza Tavakkalovа, student of AKFA University.

AU student participated in a research program organized by the Department of Endourology of AKFA Mediline. During this program, the program participants tried to evaluate the safety and efficacy of supine mini PCNL in a pediatric population.

The incidence of childhood urolithiasis ranges are high in endemic areas of the world, like Uzbekistan. Percutaneous nephrolithotomy (PCNL) is useful and effective method, showing high stone clearance with low morbidity for upper urinary tract stones >1.5 cm. The study aimed to evaluate the safety and efficacy of supine mini PCNL in a pediatric population.
