My research focuses on the interactions and tensions between sustainable building design/operation and the needs of occupants in terms of comfort, health and wellbeing. My expertise includes building modelling, built environment studies, and operational aspect of buildings.

My research examines methods of building in smart ways in developing countries, and transfers its knowledge of building technology to the local people. This way we help them in improving their living conditions.

Smart Shelter Research has identified the need for more research, for clear answers and better solutions. Thus, my research will focus on alternative and unconventional materials, their properties, limitations, sustainability and usability; in the developing context, but in modern architecture as well.
